The Hospital for Tropical Diseases, a faculty of Mahidol University, is a tropical disease research institution that is well-rounded and excels within the region of Asia to a global level. Her Royal Highness Princess Galayani Vadhana Krom Luang Narathiwat Ratachanakarin graciously donated the building, hence the name “Ratchanakarin,” in her honor.
The Hospital for Tropical Diseases specializes in providing services that treat tropical diseases, including malaria, parasitic diseases, liver diseases, and bacterial, viral, and fungal infectious diseases. Our internal medicine department offers a 24-hour malaria examination. Our extended service clinics include the Department of Parasitology, Thai Travel Clinic, Gastrointestinal Clinic, Liver Disease Clinic, Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic (acupuncture), and Traditional Thai Medicine Clinic.
However, because The Hospital for Tropical Diseases is a specialized hospital, there is no surgical department, obstetrics and gynecology department, or emergency department.
